When I hiked up Waihe'e Ridge a few months ago - where this photo of beautiful lehua flowers was taken - I had decided that a brief escape to the mountain was a remedy much needed to a creative slump. Not to mention a strange feeling that there was a dent taking shape in life's direction. It turned into a great opportunity to reaffirm my love and admiration of Maui.
